Jelly Melon Invasion

I attacked the poky vines of a jelly melon plant. Starting out as a tiny, helpless plant, this jelly melon grew until it finally overgrew my flower garden. I hadn't minded it, until it choked out my flowers and invaded my flower garden space. Now, I was ripping the dead remainders of it off the fence.

As I did this, I couldn't help but think how similar it is to our sin. It can start out small, but if you don't weed it up, it can choke out good and destroy things. At first it looks harmless--but in just a few days it can grow to an enormous size, if not handled. Isaiah 64:6 says, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away." Don't let your sins sweep you away, take care of them before they invade on you. Instead, ask God for forgiveness, He'll weed up any ugly spots in your life. And after that, don't continue to sin, turn from sin.
